Everything you Need to Know Before Going to the Courthouse to say " I DO!"

Tips & Tricks to Prepare

Do you need an appointment at the Courthouse?

No, you do not need an appointment to get married here - you can go into the courthouse as a walk-in! It does help to fill out your marriage application online ahead of time, but the ceremony can be done as a walk-in!

Is there a best day of the week or time of day?

Fridays are always busiest! Saturdays are only available once a month - and you DO need an appointment for these time slots. In general, Monday-Thursday mornings are best for walk-in ceremonies with less crowds!

Do we need a timeline for photos?

You do not need to create your own timeline - that's what I'm here for! I come prepared to capture as many photos as I can during the time you've booked me for. If you don't have an appointment, don't worry! I'll chat with you beforehand on what to expect. If you do have an appointment, then no worries: I'll send you a set timeline before your big day.

How much time do I need to book?

At the minimum, I recommend 2 hours for a courthouse elopement - 1 hour for the ceremony/indoor photos and 1 hour for the family/bridal portraits! You can always choose a 2nd location to take your bridal portraits: this will require an extra hour. Don't worry: I always work with your budget as best as I can!

Can we take our Bridal portraits elsewhere?

Yes - I actually highly suggest a second location where we can capture the more romantic bridal portraits away from your family and friends!

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner the better! Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have - I can always suggest budget friendly local florists, videographers, or makeup + hair artists to help make your day extra special!
